Coming up: Louisville Leopards and ARTTOUR

Our community is fortunate to have accessible arts events happening every month. November will be full of events, too, but the first weekend is notable for two reasons: ARTTOUR Annual Open Studios and the Louisville Leopards.

First, professional artists at 10 locations are hosting ARTTOUR on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5, from 10am to 5pm. This free event is sponsored in part by the participating artists and arts centers, as well as Danville/Boyle County Tourism and Harrodsburg/Mercer County Tourist Commission. Find the tour map, updates about special offers, guest artists, and activities at: or

And, the Louisville Leopards, a noted youth percussion band, will perform for the public at Pioneer Playhouse on Saturday, November 4, at 5pm. They will also hold a free workshop for designated local students. The Arts Commission is sponsoring and coordinating these appearances, with additional support from Walden Funeral Home, Danville Rotary, Danville Kiwannis, and Pioneer Playhouse. For a preview, see the Leopards perform Uptown Funk.

Tickets for the 5pm performance are free, with priority given to families with children. E-mail or call Mimi Becker, 859-236-2361, ext. 111, to get yours.
