The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides operating support to the Arts Commission of Danville/Boyle County with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Youth Art Fair

Developing skill in the arts can lead to interest and a myriad of careers in the arts, and the Arts Commission is pleased to help offer an opportunity for local students to exhibit their work before the community.

Each spring, the Arts Commission coordinates with local art teachers and parents of home-schooled students to present the work of visual art students of all ages who live or attend school in Boyle County. An opening reception gives the young artists the opportunity to talk to adults other than their parents and teachers about their creative process and have a photograph taken next to the display of their work to document participation in the event. Please look for information about the 2016 artists reception coming up in May.

Such arts experiences go well beyond creativity and achievement. This event helps students develop poise and confidence for the future. The Youth Art Fair demonstrates to students, especially to those who choose involvement in the arts rather than sports teams, that they, too, have people in the stands cheering them on to success.
