Arts for Kids, ETC is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide theatre arts training and performance opportunities primarily for the benefit of young people and to support arts-in-education, artists, and the arts in general throughout the community. The theatre-training program consists of age-appropriate and developmental classes ranging from Creative Dramatics and Acting to Musical Theatre, Playwriting and Directing. Production and Performance classes culminate in studio and public performances. Arts for Kids, ETC provides arts-in-education workshops and professional development for teachers, arts outreach programs and collaborative projects with other community and arts groups. Arts for Kids, ETC promotes the development and exposure of local artists as valuable community resources and provides opportunities for artists to share their work and talents through workshops, classes, and performance. Volunteers play a key role in all our programming. We strongly encourage community participation whether artistically inclined or just interested in having a good time.
Kids come first at Arts for Kids, ETC. Gaining skills to formulate and express ideas and speak or perform comfortably in front of an audience and exposure to the arts and culture help kids compete in today’s world. Positive interaction with peers and caring adults staves off unwanted influences and paves the road to becoming successful, contributing members of the community. At Arts for Kids, ETC, we respect the individual needs of our students. Some kids leave the program better prepared for careers in entertainment, media, theatre, and the performing arts. All kids leave with a better understanding of themselves and the world around them, possessing valuable skills to meet life’s challenges.
